Office Manager

Start date: 2nd September 2019 (or earlier)

Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon – Thurs 8.00am - 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)

Working weeks: Term time only plus 2 weeks holiday working to be agreed with the school (total 41 working weeks)

Salary: G12 – G14 (£22,021 - "£23,836) actual annual pro rata salary £19,828 - £21,462.22

We are looking to appoint a positive and effective Office Manager to lead a brand new office team by September 2nd 2019. The successful candidate will be able to contribute to school improvement, leading on communications with parents, the Salisbury Plain Academies Trust and a range of external agencies.

Your efficient office procedures and level of customer service will reflect Bulford’s current high expectations and standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal and staff and as such must have strong organisational skills, the ability to work proactively and an approachable and professional manner.

The successful candidate should have:

  • A good standard of general education, (including English and maths GCSE or equivalent), with strong IT skills and experience using standard office programmes, including Excel and Word.

  • Experience of working with SIMS and HCSS, although training can be provided

  • The ability to prioritise your work and be able to deal with a wide range of situations

  • The ability to work under pressure in a friendly and professional manner, dealing with staff, parents and members of the public

  • The ability to thrive under pressure and tight deadlines and be passionate about education

  • Evidence of successful collaborative working and the ability to led/supervise others

Finance duties of the role will include:

  • Support the Trust with the approval process for the monthly payrolls in accordance with agreed processes (e.g. checking that overtime to be paid matches the forms filled out by staff and supply salaries reflect the timesheets submitted)

  • Work with the Trust’s Human Resources and Finance staff and the Principal(s)/ Headteacher(s) and Admin staff within the school(s) to ensure that the staffing profile of the school is correct and is in line with the agreed establishment and associated budget allocated by the school(s).

General duties of the role will include:

  • Welcoming and managing all visitors to the school

  • Leading all systems and communications within/through the office

  • Providing information and support in a professional manner

  • Updating pupil data using SIMS, maintaining computerised attendance registers, tracking and providing reports as required

  • Liaising with staff, students, parents and all other stakeholders/outside agencies as necessary

  • Ad hoc administration including first aid

  • Dealing with situations of a sensitive/confidential nature

  • Following all school policies related to GDPR and safeguarding

Finance and Admin Officer

Start date:                   2nd September 2019 (or earlier if possible)       

Hours:                          15 hours per week (Monday – Friday 9.30am – 12.30pm) term time only + 1 week during the holiday period

Salary:                 F 9 – 11 (£10.54 - £11.19 per hour) actual annual pro rata salary £7244 - £7687

We are looking to appoint a positive and effective Finance and Admin Officer to be part of a brand-new office team from September 2nd, 2019. The successful candidate will be able to prioritise tasks, pay attention to detail and plan ahead. Primarily, you will be the Finance officer, but a major part of your role will also be to collaborate as part of an effective admin team.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher, Office Manager and staff and as such must have strong organisational skills, the ability to work proactively and an approachable and professional manner.
