Netball festival

Children from Bulford St Leonard’s primary school, part of Salisbury Plain Academies, took part in a netball festival recently.

Aimed at Year 5 and 6, players the event was held at Avon Valley College in Durrington.

Twelve primary schools took part across the festival and were split into two pools so each team played five games of netball lasting six minutes.

Bulford St Leonard’s team was made up of four girls and three boys; Bella Parry, Paige Taylor, Grace Liddle, Mati Mukome, Declan Taylor, Kieran Desroches and Dylan Vyner.

“The children were kept on their toes throughout the evening because they had to rotate positions after each match. They each fulfilled their new role and position, resulting in impressive team work,” said Jemma Dicks, teacher and PE subject leader.

The team finished third in their pool and enjoyed every minute of it.

Pupil Bella Parry said: “It was a challenge and all the other teams were good but we had lots of fun playing together.”
